Using obscure references in your team name can be a double-edged sword. It’s crucial to choose a name that is fun and entertaining without crossing any boundaries or causing discomfort to others. While it may seem funny or edgy at first, such names can offend other league members or even result in penalties or bans. Inappropriate or Offensive NamesĪnother mistake to avoid is selecting an inappropriate or offensive team name. It’s important to think outside the box and come up with a unique and memorable team name that reflects your personality and style. Many players tend to choose generic or overused names that fail to stand out in the league. One of the most common mistakes when selecting the best fantasy football team names is a lack of creativity. Common Mistakes When Choosing Best Fantasy Football Team Names 1. Let your imagination run wild and have fun with the process.Īfter all, fantasy football is all about creating a unique and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Lastly, don’t forget to embrace the spirit of fantasy football when choosing your team name. Sometimes, an outside perspective can help you refine your choice and ensure it’s the best fit for your team. Get their feedback and see if the name resonates with them. Test it Outīefore finalizing your team name, it’s always a good idea to test it out on your friends or fellow league members. Remember, the goal is to have fun and create a positive atmosphere within your fantasy football league. While it’s important to be creative and unique with your team name, it’s equally important to keep it clean and respectful.Īvoid using offensive or derogatory language that may offend others. For instance, you could opt for a name like “The Unstoppable Force” or “The Gridiron Warriors.” 5. Use strong and powerful words to convey your team’s strength and superiority. If you want to strike fear into the hearts of your opponents, consider choosing a team name that showcases your team’s dominance. Play around with puns, alliteration, or rhymes to create a catchy and clever name.įor example, if you have a team stacked with wide receivers, you could go for a name like “The Catching Corps” or “The Route Runners.” 4. Wordplay can be a fantastic tool when it comes to crafting a memorable team name. This not only adds a personal touch but also shows your dedication to the game.įor instance, if you have Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, you could go for a name like “Mahomes’ Magic” or “The Mahomes Marauders.” One way to make your team name stand out is by incorporating the names of your star players or making clever references to them. Whether you want to be witty, clever, or intimidating, make sure the name captures the essence of your squad.įor example, you could go for a punny name like “Gridiron Gurus” or a more fierce name like “The Thundering Titans.” 2. Or it might imitate fabrics so well that the time machine itself would be fooled and reject it unless it made its entire body mimic human flesh. There are some possible explanations though: T-1000's might be pre-programmed to mimic human skin on a cellular level but have to see particular fabrics or objects to imitate them too. It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense that the T-1000 is Naked on Arrival like other time travelers even though his clothes are part of his body.So not only is John the "public enemy" but also has a target on his back (though it's hidden under a camo shirt, and you could read into the significance of a camo shirt as well). It made sense costume-wise as something a rebellious teen would wear in the early 90s, but also in the eyes of the T-1000, John Connor is "public enemy number one." Also, people familiar with the t-shirt brand would know that on the back of the shirt is Public Enemy's insignia: a silhouette with crosshairs over it. John Connor wears a "Public Enemy" t-shirt for most of the film. His objective now has a higher percentage of success, which is a good thing. He's a machine built to kill, and he found a thing that makes killing very easy. It's also noteworthy that he can be seen smiling normally when he picked up the minigun for the first time, confirming that he actually does understand the concept of emotion now.Which shows that the cyborg is, indeed, learning. The T-800 turns back to John "Trust me," and gets the smile right. This does have a nice payoff later on during the raid at Cyberdyne, when the 800 declares that he'll handle the incoming police force, John reminds him that he promised he wouldn't kill anyone. The T-800 has information on human anatomy, yes- but not on human emotions. Many viewers complained about the extra scene where the T-800 smiles awkwardly, saying that it made no sense for a machine with detailed information on human anatomy to have to scan an actual smile for reference. This is likely because John knew full well that his younger self would want to save his mother, but she would be terrified of seeing a Terminator again, so during the reprogramming, he set the T-800 to say the first thing that Kyle said to her, making it easier for her to believe this one was on her side. The T-800 says "Come with me if you want to live" when he first meets Sarah.John pulls out what's left of the $300 he has, which Sarah snatches from him, splits the amount of and hands half back to him for food. When the group pulls over to get gas, Sarah asks John if he has any money. This is pretty much fact due to the release of the Special Edition. The reason Sarah, John, and "Uncle Bob" can get supplies at "Cactus Jack's" without attracting attention or being tracked is John had just swiped $300 from the ATM before. The T-800 (possibly knowing/deducing that there is a steel mill nearby, and intending on using molten metal to slow down or destroy the T-1000) tells John to take the off-ramp and drive to the steel mill. However, one can argue that the nitrogen tanker was heading for the steel mill (as liquid nitrogen is used in various steel-making processes).
The discrimination Judy faces reads as gender discrimination in the workplace, but this is made confusing by the fact that a male bunny would also have faced that discrimination. I say racial panic, but as an allegory Zootopia's specifics are all over the place. Centuries ago predator and prey were locked in an eternal battle for survival, but Zootopia was where they first banded together and decided to become one healthy community. She graduates and receives assignment in Zootopia, a bustling metropolis with lush biomes for every kind of mammal. Judy proves that it can be done, even in the face of harsh adversity from the academy, and gentle adversity from her parents. No bunny has ever joined the police force, you see, on account of their diminutive stature. The story begins simply enough, with small town rabbit Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) setting out to prove herself at the Police Academy. Unfortunately, I'm not fully on board with how the movie handles the message. With the message, it's a refreshingly smart and political mystery that has a lot to teach a lot of people. Without the message, it becomes yet another run-of-the-mill, albeit impeccably crafted, Disney movie about anthropomorphic animals who learn to be themselves. Interesting how one bifurcation can head a society down a completely different, devolutionary path.Zootopia is structured around its message. Who’d a thunk?įurther Reading/Watching: For a look into a darker side of how control can creep in when we refuse to allow memetics to function, check out this storyboard of a Zootopia world that is decidedly more dystopian, where in order for the predators to be safe, they have to have a shock collar. We just have to throw away our misconceptions, our historical in-group/out-group dynamics, make friendships a priority, and, well, empathetically evolve. There’s not that many differences between Zootopia’s world and our own. Zootopia may be fantastic, but for a cartoon, it shows the necessary social order for a sustainable future. The effort shows, and serves as a lesson in the time it takes for any process to create that level of Global system continuity. The movie designers worked for five years on this, working through, in an open, collaborative, empathetic fashion, the inconsistencies that had to be dispensed with for the movie to be a template for a positive future. The movie is ostensibly about confronting bias - but what it really is about is an evolution to individuation, vital for real, functional communitarian behavior. Inappropriate Authoritarian behavior is prosecuted - Zootopia is not a place where everyone always does the right thing, all the time. There are deviant actors, but legal scaffolding (as in the Zootopia police department) exists to manage them. Food exists and is redistributed appropriately. Everyone has mass transportation that fits them. Take a look at this stanza!īy far, though, from a Global Holistic perspective, what’s interesting is how the social physics of a functional, multicultural society are naturally emergent and propagate from the v-Meme set. She’s singing a song praising experiential education that wouldn’t surprise me if it showed up as the main ballad for the next LEAN/Agile conference. Gazelle, the sexy singer, has no top and a big butt. The movie wraps up with a Disney song - here again, we are seeing some very interesting inroads in animation. What’s interesting here, though, is that the screenwriters juxtapose differently abled animals in scenes like the police training, and really stress the idea of the individual taking advantage of their unique configurations. Of course, this is a Disney/Pixar movie, so there’s the typical Hero’s Journey (with a couple of twists) plot line for the main character - rabbit Judy Hopps. The main villain is a psychopath who uses mental models of predators solely for relational disruption, and does her work through triangulating societal institutions against her targets, with the primary goal of power and control. We’re talking Global Systemic v-Meme here, folks! But the values communicated across the film are one in profound support of not just Communitarianism - judging each animal not by their species, but by their actions and character - but also a profound examination of the role of self-awareness, and standing up to external manipulations. The hamsters and lemmings, for example (at least that’s what I think they are!) are the only ones that get their own Habitrail Hyperloop. There’s some species differentiation portrayed in the film. The creature was a symbolic representation of the relationship between the sun god (the lion’s body) and the king (the human head), and was the “living image of the king”, demonstrating his strength and his close association with the god Ra. The appropriate Egyptian appellation for a statue or image of this kind was shesep-ankh (living image). This one has been connected by the archaeologists to the pharaohs Ammenemes II (12th Dynasty, 1929-1895 BCE), Merneptah (19th Dynasty, 1212-1202 BCE) and Shoshenq I (22nd Dynasty, 945-924 BCE), but it may be earlier as well. However, it is the surviving brother who is able to kill the other three fighters from Alba Longa. Of the three Horatii brothers, only one survived the confrontation. In the painting we see the Romans saluting their father who holds their swords out for them. Two families decided to fight: three Roman brothers of the Horatii family and three brothers from a family of Alba Longa, the Curiatii. Instead of the two cities sending their armies to war, they agree to choose three men from each city the victor in that fight will be the victorious city. It depicts a scene from a Roman legend about a dispute between two cities, Rome and Alba Longa. Interactivity with Events and Control Blocks This adds a dynamic aspect to their projects and helps them grasp the cause-and-effect relationship in coding.Ĭ. Kids can easily make their sprites move across the screen or change their appearance using the Motion and Looks blocks. Sprites can be made to move, talk, and interact with one another, all through these scripts. In Scratch, characters are called sprites, and the sequences of blocks that control them are called scripts. Whether it’s making a cat dance or a spaceship fly, kids will quickly see the results of their coding efforts, boosting their confidence and excitement. The best way to learn is by doing! Scratch allows kids to dive right into creating their first project. From moving left and right to making characters talk, Scratch blocks provide an interactive way for kids to learn coding concepts. The building blocks of Scratch are, well, blocks! These blocks represent different commands that the characters can follow. This approachable design immediately puts young users at ease and encourages them to explore. When your kids first open Scratch, they’ll be greeted by a friendly interface filled with colorful characters and backgrounds. By combining code with visual elements, Scratch encourages young coders to think creatively and express their ideas in a unique way. It empowers kids to design and build their own interactive stories, games, and animations. Scratch was created at MIT with a unique focus on creativity. These languages use visual elements like blocks and icons to represent code, making it easier for kids to understand and experiment with. Visual coding languages, like Scratch, have emerged to make programming accessible to everyone. Gone are the days when coding required lines of text on a screen. Scratch takes this concept and turns it into colorful blocks that kids can drag and snap together, making the process more intuitive and enjoyable. It’s a language that computers understand.
